'Dirty' hotel

In de Spaanse hoofdstad Madrid is een hotel geopend dat volledig uit afval is opgetrokken.

De muren van het Beach Garbage Hotel zijn bedekt onder rotzooi die aanspoelde op Europese stranden, afval dat gevonden werd op vuilnisbelten en items die op vlooienmarkten gekocht werden.
Het hotel, dat vijf slaapkamers telt, is het werk van de Duitse kunstenaar Ha Schult. Hij hoopt zo de aandacht te vestigen op de immense hoeveelheid afval die het toerisme in Europa veroorzaakt en hoe onze vakanties er kunnen uitzien als de stranden niet proper worden gehouden. "De oceanen zijn de grootste vuilnisbelt van deze planeet", aldus Schult.
